Test scores

Test results (Official Score Certificate) will be mailed within 30 days of the test date to examinees using a sealed envelope marked "親展 (confidential)".

If you did not receive your test results

If you did not receive an Official Score Certificate within 35 days of the test date, please call us at the contact telephone number (03-5521-5909) within 65 days after the test date. Any undelivered certificate report submitted later than that will be considered a request for reissue. The fee for reissuing a certificate is 500 yen per Official Score Certificate.

Reissue

If you wish to request the reissue an Official Score Certificate, please send the necessary documents to “Official Score Certificate Reissue Service”, Tokyo Operation Center, the Institute for International Business Communication.
A reissued certificate will be mailed 4 business days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and year-end through New Year holidays.) of arrival of the necessary documents.

  • *Necessary documents are valid only when they arrive at the institute within two years from the test date.
    (We do not reissue an Official Score Certificate for the test that has been administered more than 2 years ago.)
  • *If you do not receive a reissued certificate within 10 days of mailing the necessary documents, please contact the institute.
  • *Please note that an Official Score Certificate will not be reissued if necessary documents do not arrive at the institute due to non-delivery or postal delay.

  1. Certificate Reissue Request
    • This form is available on our official website (Japanese.)
    • If you do not use the Internet, please prepare a document that contains the following information in place of the Certificate Reissue Request.

    • • Examinee’s name
    • • Current address and telephone number (Please also give the address and telephone number at the time of test administration, if they differ from the current address and telephone number.)
    • • Daytime contact telephone number
    • • Test administration number, test date and registration number for the Official Score Certificate that you would like to be reissued (Please give your application number if you do not have your registration number)
    • • Examinee’s name in roman letters and date of birth on the Official Score Certificate
    • • Number of certificate to be reissued
    • • Delivery address for reissued Official Score Certificate (if you would like it to be sent to a location other than the current address)
  2. Prescribed amount of postal money order (on a JPY basis issued within the past 6 months)
    • Fee for reissuing a certificate: 500 JPY per Official Score Certificate (23 JPY consumption tax included)
    • There is no need to fill out the postal money order form or stamp your seal in the space provided.
  3. A copy of (valid) identification card with a photograph
    • Please send a copy of an identification card with a photograph (come of the following:Pass port, driver license*, student ID card*, employee ID card*, passport and Basic Resident Register Card*). We will not return the copy of identification card.
    • *Identification cards with "*" are acceptable only if they are issued in Japan.
    • If the copy of your identification card carries your domicile of origin, please black out that section.
    • Please consult Tokyo Operation Center of the institute, if you do not have an identification card with a photograph or your name has changed since test administration due to marriage or other reasons.

Overseas Shipping Service

If you wish to have an Official Score Certificate sent to a location outside Japan

If you wish to have an Official Score Certificate sent to a location outside Japan for reasons such as study abroad of overseas posting, please send the necessary documents(Japanese) and the prescribed amount of postal money order on a JPY basis to the Official Score Certificate Overseas Shipping Service. They must arrive within 10 days of the test date.
Fee for overseas shipping service : 2,500 JPY for shipping per one address.
・Please be advised that we will not accept any request submitted later than 10 days after the test date.

You need to apply for reissue of the certificate, if you wish to have an Official Score Certificate for past test administrations sent abroad.

Shipping

An Official Score Certificate will be sent overseas by Express Mail Service (EMS). The institute will mail a “notice of receipt” to the contact address in Japan within 4 business days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and year-end through New Year holidays) of arrival of the necessary documents to inform you of the scheduled shipping day.

Score reports (Official Score Certificate)

Official Score Certificate

Your Score/This lists your Listening, Reading, and Total Score.

Percentile Rank/Percentage of the global TOEIC Secure Program test-takers in 2004 through 2006 scoring below your scaled section score is printed in the Official Score Certificate which is issued in FY2007. For example, if you received 300 for Listening test with 41% for percentile rank, 41% of the examinees scored less than 300. In other words, the examinees who score 300 are in the top of 59%.

ABILITIES MEASURED/Percentage of items you answered correctly on this test form for each type of Abilities Measured. There are four categories for the Listening Section and five categories for the Reading Section. <Listening> ・Can infer gist, purpose, and basic context based on informationthat is explicitly stated in short spoken texts ・Can infer gist, purpose, and basic context based on informationthat is explicitly stated in extended spoken texts ・Can understand details in short spoken texts ・Can understand details in extended spoken texts <Reading>・Can make inferences based on information in written texts ・Can locate and understand specific information in written texts ・Can connect information across multiple sentences in a single written text and across texts ・Can understand vocabulary in written texts ・Can understand grammar in written texts Your Performance on questions testing these abilities cannot be compared to the performance of test-takers who take other forms or to your own performance on other test forms. The average for each ability is the averaged percentage of items answered correctly by the test-takers of the TOEIC Secure Program on this form.
