Check-in Time

For morning test: 9:15~9:30 *Examinees must arrive at the test center no later than 9:30. *If you arrive late, you will not be admitted. For afternoon test: 13:15~13:30 *Examinees must arrive at the test center no later than 13:30. *If you arrive late, you will not be admitted. Test center personnel will check your identification at the check in counter, take a photograph to be printed on an Official Score Certificate, and assign you a seat.

Test Time

Test time required: About 1 hour and 20 minutes ・Speaking Test 20 minutes ・Writing Test 60 minutes *There is no scheduled break during the test. *Please note that the test does not begin simultaneously for all examinees. *Examinees are assigned seats as they check in. The test begins once an examinee is seated. *Examinees will not be excused from the test room once they check in until the test has finished.

Directions for the Test day / Eligibility for Admission

1. Examinee will be admitted in the test center only when they have completed necessary application procedures. No one can take the test on behalf of an examinee. Children and pets are not allowed in the test center.
2. You may find that the room temperature is not appropriate. You are advised to dress in such a way that you will be able to adjust your clothing to the room temperature.
3. The test room cannot shut out noise completely. However, it has been decided that the voice of the proctor who is giving instructions, the voice of other examinees giving answers, and the noise of operating PCs do not interfere with testing. Please note that we do not arrange retesting or extend the test time.
   We would like to ask examinees to help us maintain an appropriate testing environment.
4. In the TOEIC Writing test, you are to use the US keyboard layout. Some of the keys on the keyboard will be different from what is shown on the Japanese keyboard layout. On the test date, materials which illustrates the keyboard chart will be distributed at the test center.
5. The test begins once an examinee has checked in and has been seated. The test does not begin simultaneously for all examinees. Once an examinee is seated, the proctor will prepare for the commencement of the test.You are to begin the test by following materials which describes how to proceed with the test. On the test day, it will be distributed at the test center.
6. Your ID photograph (showing the upper body with no cap and with the face looking straight ahead) will be taken on the test date. This photograph will be printed on your Official Score Certificate. This has been determined in accordance with the rules of the iBT Operation Center, the Institute for International Business Communication. Please note that, in principle, we do not retake or change a photograph upon request from an examinee.
7. Document titled "Confidentiality Statement" will be distributed at the test center on the test date. The Confidentiality Statement includes rules that need to be observed at the test center and the pledge. You are to read it, fill out and sign it. You will not be admitted, if you do not fill it out or sign it.

Directions at the Test Center

1. Once the test has started, it may not be stopped or restarted. If you hear a temporary break in sound or any small noises through the headset, or notice any interruptions during the Speaking Test, please inform the proctor by raising your hand after completing the Speaking Test.
2. If you have any questions during the　“Wearing the headset”,　“Changing the volume” or　“Adjusting the microphone” screens, please raise your hand and do not proceed to the next page.
3. You are not allowed to leave the testing room before the test ends. If you do not feel well, please inform the proctor by quietly raising your hand. (Any time spent out of the room during the test will be lost time.) If you decide to discontinue taking the test before it has ended, neither the Speaking Test nor the Writing Test will be scored.
4. Certain noises are unavoidable during the test, such as the directions voices of proctors when explaining, voices of other examinees answering questions, and sounds of operating PCs. The test will not be extended and retest will not be offered when such a noise does occur. In order to maintain optimal testing conditions, warnings may be given.
5. The photograph taken at the test center will be printed on your Official Score Certificate. The suitability of the photograph will be determined based on regulations set by the iBT Operation Center of the institute. We can not accept requests from examinees to retake or to change the photograph.
6. Please keep your ID with you during the test.
7. Please follow the directions of the staff at all times.
8. The staff will not be able to answer any questions about the contents of the test.
9. Test proctors will make rounds of the test room to confirm that optimal testing conditions are maintained and that all examinees comply with instructions and warnings.
10. Please confirm the location of the exit for emergencies.
11. Please take any litter with you when you leave.

Prohibited Acts

1. Recording; Copying and making public the test contents as well as any obstruction of test are prohibited.
2. Educational Testing Service (ETS), the developer of the TOEIC test, considers any type of writing (such as taking notes) as cheating or an attempt to make the test contents public, and prohibits any action of this kind. Warnings will be given if you are caught taking notes.
3. No food or drinks (including PET bottles, gum and candy) are allowed in the testing room.
4. We appreciate your cooperation with no-smoking rules.
5. In order to maintain the very best testing conditions for all examinees, we ask for your cooperation with regards to all electronic devices. All mobile telephone functions (conversation, email, Internet, and photography) and automatic settings, audio players, PCs, game devices and electronic organizers must be turned off. If a noise does occur, the test will not be extended and a retest will not be offered.
6. Automatic settings, such as alarms, may generate noise even if the power is turned off. Therefore, all automatic functions must be disabled.
7. Please refrain from any actions that may disturb other examinees.

Failing to follow the test-proctor or printed instructions may result in

• ・dismissal from the test site
• ・and/or refusal of future test applications

• *You will not be admitted to the test center on the test date if you do not bring an identification card that the institute approves. If you do not have an identification card, please make sure to consult the iBT Operation center of the institute before submitting an application.
